The action is set in the city of Washington and the plot focuses on a series of dangerous orders received through the CRIMENET system. Players take the role of members of an organized crime gang. The title, similarly to the first part, was developed by Overkill Software from Stockholm. PayDay 2 is a co-op FPS game which is a continuation of the successful production from 2011.
